Tiger tourism is back!

Hey everyone!

Today we’re going to talk about tiger tourism, a type of adventure tourism that had been involved in problems during these last years, but nowadays has returned. This tourism is a type of passive adventure tourism, a type of tourism which not involves customers to do an activity. Now we're going to talk about how tiger tourism is important in India and what problems it has.

40 tiger reserves in India had been closed last year and the tiger tourism had been banned by Supreme Court of India. The main reason of this was that the environmental campaigner Ajay Dubey had been demanded that this type of tourism was traumatising for tigers and damaged the conservation efforts for them.

The Supreme Court putted the matter to forestry ministry, which controls all India’s parks. The decision was to ban these parks during the annual closure but they should have reopened in autumn.

Then, the state governments have six months to draw up new regulations to their parks, especially timings to registration of visitors and vehicles inside it.

Therefore, the volume of visitors has a big impact on this environment, and the most important impact could be that all of these have a knock-effect of damaging the chances of tiger surviving.

In conclusion, tiger tourism is a type of adventure tourism typical in India, but by a complaint to these parks that take this type of tourism, they need to improve the regulations/rules to try not giving bad impacts to tiger’s survival.  Then, this type of adventure tourism depends on the country where is situated and it's an opportunity for big companies to apply this type of tourism to their variety of possibilities.

However, this change in the regulations make that only around 20% of these parks could be open to potential customers making a decrease in the economy of there
